What is weatherization?

Weatherization is the process of protecting a home’s interior from outside elements like moisture, snow, ice, cold winter air, hot summer air, and even the sun. Weatherization acts as a protective shield and allows year-round comfort. It also saves money by reducing energy waste that comes with poorly insulated and “leaky” houses.

Can insulation and air sealing fix my drafty windows?

Yes! Drafty windows are often the symptom of a problem, not a problem themselves. Cold air usually points to a sign of poor insulation or gaps allowing air leakage. Before taking on the expense of replacing your windows, we encourage you to chat with us.

Are heat pumps only for heating?

No, heat pumps are great at efficiently cooling homes.

Do I have to do all upgrades at once?

No, whether a one-time upgrade or a phased approach, we tailor our plan to match homeowners’ needs and budget. Our team starts each process by conducting a thorough assessment to provide you with a prioritized lists of suggested upgrades, tailored to your home’s requirements. From there, we work together to determine the next steps that are right for you.

Are there financing options available for weatherization and heat pump installations?

We understand the importance of making home improvements financially feasible. We partner with the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF), which provides trusted and transparent financing. We can also guide you through available rebates and tax incentives, ensuring that energy-efficient upgrades are within reach.

How do rebates work? What is the process?

We handle the rebates for you! Following your energy assessment, we tell you about current available rebates and how best to take advantage of them. Once you’ve signed off on the projects you wish to pursue, we file the paperwork for you. We even deduct the rebate from your total cost—before the rebate is even processed! This means you don’t have to pay completely out of pocket or wait to be reimbursed.

Can heat pumps perform in Maine's cold climate?

Yes, heat pumps have quickly become one of the most popular heating and cooling solutions, and for good reason. With their advanced technology and our expert installation, heat pumps are designed to efficiently heat your home, even on the chilliest days.

What are the potential cost savings from weatherization and heat pump installations?

Savings vary by home, though weatherization and heat pump solutions have shown to lead to substantial cost savings by decreasing heat loss, energy usage, oil/gas dependency, and more.  For a closer look at your potential return on investment, request a free energy assessment.

Will the installation process disrupt my daily routine?

Our teams view each space we work in as a home, not just a house. We prioritize minimal disruption during the weatherization and/or installation process. We strive to work efficiently and courteously, ensuring that your daily activities remain as undisturbed as possible and that the job site is left clean.
